Lurker

Lurker is a person who frequents certain online communities, like chats, forums or blogs, yet doesn't actively participates in them. For example, this person can be registered on a forum, read it every day, yet doesn't really post anything by himself/herself.

The motives behind lurking can be different. Usually such people are interested in information of particular sort, yet, doesn't really have much information to give out. Another frequent case is that a person simply doesn't have enough time for active contribution, yet is willing to keep in touch with community.

Though being annoying in some situations Lurking isn't really a bad thing. Since the person doesn't really do any harm to others, and doesn't need the information for ill means. There is also a negative type of lurking (though its not really Lurking in this sense) It is called Stalking
